Botanical Guide Linda Ross

Journey through the pristine natural environments and cultural landscapes of Chile, Peru and Ecuador on an extraordinary 17-day immersion into some of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.

Together we will explore the legendary Machu Picchu and the breathtaking Sacred Valley, learning about the innovative agricultural practices of the Inca that still inspire sustainable growing today. Weโ€™ll travel in unforgettable style aboard the opulent Belmond Hiram Bingham train, crossing the Andean highlands in elegance.

From there, we venture deep into the wilderness of the Amazon Rainforest, cruising for three nights aboard an elegant river ship โ€” immersed in extraordinary biodiversity, towering rainforest giants and vibrant wildlife.

We then explore the lush Mindo Cloud Forest, before concluding in the enchanted Galรกpagos Islands, where we stay three nights on Santa Cruz Island for a deeper connection with this serene sanctuary of endemic species.

This is more than a tour โ€” it is a once-in-a-lifetime botanical and ecological adventure, thoughtfully curated for plant lovers and curious travellers who want to experience South America in depth, in style and with meaning.

Colombia in Full Bloom

A Remote River Journey from the Andes to Cartagena

11 Days | 1 September 2027

Treat yourself to an extraordinary botanical adventure through one of the most biodiverse countries on earth. We begin high in the Andes, where mist gathers around sculptural frailejones and orchids cling to cloud-forest branches. From Bogotรกโ€™s world-class botanical collections to the vast wilderness of the pรกramo, weโ€™ll explore plant communities found nowhere else on the planet.

Then we descend to the great Magdalena River โ€” Colombiaโ€™s lifeblood โ€” boarding a boutique river ship to cruise through mangroves, floating villages and lush tropical landscapes largely untouched by tourism. Along the way, weโ€™ll encounter vibrant local culture, music, colour and the layered stories of this remarkable country.

Our journey culminates in Cartagena โ€” a jewel of the Caribbean โ€” where bougainvillea spills over colonial balconies and sunset light washes the old city walls in gold.

This is not simply a cruise. Itโ€™s a deep immersion into landscape, plants and place โ€” shared with fellow garden lovers and curious travellers.
